Teaching Assistant Specification

For this Teaching Assistant post you should be a compassionate graduate who has ideally worked with SEN children either in a volunteer or paid role and at least received a 2:1 in your degree. You will have the drive to show your effective communication skills and be able to thrive even in adverse situations. You must show the ability to prove you are the type of person who does not take failure lightly and always gives 100% to engage and motivate the pupils you are working with. The successful Teaching Assistant will need energy, enthusiasm and perseverance.

About the Teaching Assistant role

As a Teaching Assistant your role will involve supporting general classes across the school. You will be providing 1:1 support and small group support on a daily basis as well as helping out within whole class lessons. You will take the lead on intervention sessions and booster sessions within Maths and Literacy so confidence within these subject areas is desirable. You will need to act as a positive role model in order to help pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
