Excellent opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer specialising in the Rail sector to join a reputable global rail construction company on a permanent basis in Hertfordshire. Our client provides a range of multi-disciplinary rail services to a variety of transportation projects throughout the UK and globally. They have specialist experience with highly complex projects which has led to a catalogue of notable clients and an increasing workload.

The selected candidate will join a Design and Build team and be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project-related tasks that meet budget and quality targets. Key duties will include:

- Carrying out investigation and design activities in-line with project requirements
- Preparing and registering all relevant documentation and design reports, and ensuring all are accurate
- Maintaining on-going communication with relevant Project Leaders/Team Leaders and clients
- Contributing to the resolution of any technical issues that may arise
- Providing technical support to other team members
- Keeping up-to-date with innovations and developments

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

- Degree qualification in relevant engineering subject
- Proven experience within the rail industry
- Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations
- Technical, analytical and numerical design ability
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartered status
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads
- Drainage, piling and temporary works experience would be desirable
